Implementing ELP in Thuringia, Germany: Bridging the Gap between Primary and Secondary Schools

Main Focus • To make a real contribution in bridging the gap between Primary School – Secondary Schools • To make a change in paradigm: seeing language learning from the point of view of the learner • To ensure the comparability of Thuringian diplomas in the European context • To guarantee time and cost efficient work with the ELP

  5. Only one folder for the different age groups: • Primary School (8-11 year old) • Lower Secondary School (10-16 year old) • Higher Secondary School

Timeline and action plan • 2000/2001 - introduction to test (800 copies) • 2002 – validation, unofficial english and french, polish versions,10.000 copies and 24 schools to test the practicability • 2004 – 5.000 copies for further implementation and start of the new project to make the ELP more useful • 2007/2008 – new generation of curricula for all subjects, validation of the new model for livelong language learning
