Interesting facts about Polar Seas • in thesummerthesunis out day&night • have manyendangered animalsbecause they are slow adapting creatures • Polar sea ice is melting • Arctic ice is always dynamic • increasing during winter and shrinking during summer • during recent decades the ice cap has been shrinking in both area and thickness • 80%of the seain winter isiceand60%insummer • more than 90%of the ice is less than 2m thick

  3. Affect from humans!!!!! animalsare being decreasedfrom more whaling andfishing global warming is also affecting the animalsin the polar region researchers found:seaspider species as big as a human hand and tiny,shrimp-like crustaceans in the Arctic basin that live at 9,850 ft depths

Some animals include: • Polar bear- have claws that are scooped on the underside to help them dig in the ice • Penguin- can slide on the bellies or waddle across the ice thanks to their short webbed feet • Ermine- are largely nocturnal but will sometimes come out during the day • Lemming- do not hibernate but they burrow through the snow to find food to remain active • Arctic hare- in order to blend in with the snow the change their fur color to white • Whales- there is a layer of fat, or blubber, beneath the whale, also have a great respiratory system that lets them stay in water for a long time without needing oxygen • Walrus- the tusks are used in that they are dragged through the dirt, snow, ect. while the upper edge of the snout is used for digging • Greenland Shark- astonishingly lives in the most unlikely place the Polar Sea • THE END!!!!!!!!!!
