  2. Important to me because… • I can actually relate to the book, coming from a middle-class life. I’ve seen my parents struggle to provide me and my siblings a good life, and they would try their hardest to give us everything we needed, even if it meant falling behind on their bills.

  3. The author is saying… • People can avoid TheTwo-Income Trap. Sometimes parents are working harder to provide a better life for their children, but in doing so they are falling backwards because of the economy. • They mention people going bankrupt over credit card debts and how families can prevent it by not using credit cards or controlling their use.

  4. Some people don’t realize that having children, especially newborn babies, causes an increase in spending for food, diapers, baby wipes, bottles, and clothes. In addition, there are house and car payments, insurance, and water and utility bills.

  5. My response… • People like to spend money on things that they don’t really need. If they would be more careful to buy things that they actually need, other than things that they want, then they wouldn’t fall so easily into the two-income trap.
