YOUR TEAM IS UP AND RUNNING! • Support Section consists of 12 Advisors and 5 Team Leaders • Welcome to Lt Col Mike McArdle as new AE Advisor and Lt Col Tom Berg as new Awards and Promotions Team Leader • Col Dave Braun has been appointed as the new Uniform Committee Chairman and has begun to “stand up” the structure of the new committee
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTCol Bryan Cooper, Advisor • New Aerospace Ed Specialty Track has been released • Updating numerous other Specialty Tacks including Chaplains, Public Affairs and Medical Services • Working with National Staff College on several new initiatives. • Developing tool set for new Wing/Region PDOs.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGYLt Col Bill Hughes, Advisor • eServices and WMIRS updates continue with excellent results and feedback. • AMS work in progress but delayed due to vendor problems. • Aircraft scheduling as an add-on to WMIRS continues testing in 3 Wings • Work on a single member qualification record is in progress. • WMU/IMU integration in progress
AEROSPACE EDUCATIONLt Col Mike McArdle, Advisor • CAPP 215 has been published. • New AE Specialty Track test questions have been released and are in use. • 4 Region AEO Schools in 2010 will be in PCR, MER, NER, and GLR. National School in Pensacola NAS. • New Robotics Program is almost complete, with RC Airplane Program to follow.
MARKETINGCol Skip Guimond, Acting Advisor • Seeking a new Marketing Advisor. • Working on Simplified Checklist for New CAP Members on How To Qualify for Ops Missions • Developing a new Marketing Plan for review by the National Commander.
PUBLIC AFFAIRSMaj Al Pabon, Team Leader • New PAO Orientation Program has been developed and will be ongoing. • Numerous PAO workshops are scheduled in the Regions as well as at NESA. • New PAO Specialty Track course and PAO Handbook in development. • Developing a new PAO “store” of resources • PAO Basic Course is being developed - target release is early 2011.
MEMBER AFFAIRSLt Col Rick Moseley, Advisor • Developing a new member’s flow chart for qualification into the most popular specialty qualifications (Fast Start Program). • Continuing educational programs on writing and justifying award and promotion requests at Wing/Region conferences.
AWARDS & PROMOTIONSLt Col Tom Berg, Team Leader • Waiver requests are now being processed within a month—usually less than 2 weeks • Emergency Approvals have been coordinated in less than a week—but please use sparingly • Working directly with Wings to support requests lacking documentation rather than issue a denial • Revisions to CAPR 39-3 published.
GOVERNMENT RELATIONSCol John Swain, Advisor • Continuing to work the 2010 Legislative Agenda including the FY 2011 budget issues. • Numerous briefings given to DOD and other governmental agencies on CAP CAPabilities. • 2010 CAP Washington Week at Andrews AFB in conjunction with the JSOH is in the final planning stages.
STATE LEGISLATIVE TEAM LEADERLt Col Jeff Wiswell, Team Leader; Col Swain, Advisor • Developing templates and training programs for Wing Legislative Officers • Developing a strong and effective State Legislative Team capable of providing support to those Wings which request it, and to assist in our overall legislative effectiveness. • Working to fill Legislative Officer positions in all Wings.
CADET PROGRAMSLt Col Ned Lee, Advisor • CAPR 52-16 is almost ready for staff review. • Working to expand partnerships with similar youth organizations in support of our LTO • Continuing to expand our cadet activities through new NCSAs • Developing plan for a new CAP Alumni Association for approval by CAP/CC. • Coordinating NCC Working Group to reach consensus on NCC upgrades.
National Cadet Special ActivitiesMaj Joe Winter, Advisor • 2010 NCSAs have 915 cadets enrolled. 599 of these are first time attendees. • All NCSAs are staffed with an AD and senior staff officers. • Additional travel funding secured for SUPTFC and AFSPFC. • Working with CAP-USAF on allocation of “mandays” for NCSAs.
DRUG DEMAND REDUCTIONLt Col Jett Mayhew, Team Leader;Lt Col Ned Lee New initiative partnering DDR and CP kicked of by the CAP/CC. DDR Commanders Guide has been published. “Fit For Flying” program in final review prior to staff coordination Updating the DDR website Delay in release of full DDR appropriation could delay some activities. 14
SPAATZ ASSOCIATIONMaj Steve Austen, Advisor;Lt Col Ned Lee • Continuing liaison with the Spaatz Association • Spaatz Patron Squadron is up and running • 2010 Annual Dinner was held at the Winter NB and was a great success. • Cadet Aerospace Leadership Scholarships ($2,500 each) were at the Annual Dinner.
NATIONAL CADET ADVISORY COUNCILCol Larry Trick, Advisor;Lt Col Ned Lee, Advisor • Conduct and guide monthly NCAC Meetings • Working Fitness, O Ride, C-182 Flight Training, DDR, and NCAC organizational Issues • Advertising Missions & NCSAs to all Cadets URBAN PROGRAMSCol George Boyd, Team Advisor • Staff Study & Recommendations given to CAP/CC for review.
UNIFORM COMMITTEECol Dave Braun, Chairman • Col Dave Braun appointed to chair this new Committee. • Col Braun is working with CAP/CC to fill the positions on the new Committee. • Standard Operating Procedures following the direction of the NB are being formulated including a simple “Flow Chart” for submission of uniform changes and recommendations.
