Starting Out! • Turn on your computer and use the Windows Start menu to start the Word application. • Turn on your computer, if necessary. • Click the Start button on the taskbar. • Point to All Programs on the Start menu. • Click the Microsoft Office folder. • Click Microsoft Word to open the application. TRAIL MARKER 1Opening and Saving an Existing Document • Open an existing document and save it with a new name. • Click the File tab or the Office Button. • Click Open to open the Open dialog box. • Switch to the folder that contains your data files. • Double-click the Mark Twain filename to open the document. Tap the BACKSPACE key to remove the extra t. • Tap the CTRL + END keys. Use the Up and Right arrow keys to move the insertion point so it is exactly between the two letters o in the word too in the next to last sentence on the page. • Tap the DELETE key to remove the extra o.
