  2. The Impossible Problem • Follow the directions to complete the task.

  3. Discuss It • How were the students in the "red" group treated? • How were the students in the "blue" group treated? • How did you feel during the activity? • Were any of your friends in the other group? How did that make you feel?

  4. Discuss It • How does this activity relate to the feelings of people in our society who may be judged based on their skin color or ethnic background? • Why would some people consider racial inequality in America as an "impossible problem" to solve? • What would it take to solve it?

  5. Think About It • What did Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. mean when he said this? • What can you do if you find yourself in a real situation where someone is being discriminated against?

  6. Think About It Complete the analogy shown below and write it in your journal. Explain what it means to you and relate it to your experiences today. Analogy: "Puzzle pieces need to all fit together to make a complete __________, while we need to work together to make a complete ___________."
