A recent performance that I have watched would be the Broadway musical Evita starring Ricky Martin, Elena Roger and Michael Clerveris, directed by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. This was my first time watching Broadway and I was stunned by the choreography and the amazing voice of Elena Roger. The way the scenes transitioned was also astonishing because of the amount of props and people had to be changed for the next scene.
The most recent performance I have been in was the 2012 DAA student directed play Harry is Hotter at Twilight. I played the role of a character that was a cross over between the godfather and the leader of the Vultori. The role required me to play a old man with tremendous amount of power and a troublesome family, the experience reminded me of just how fun acting is because the last time I had been in a major performance was in 5th grade.
A symbol that best represent myself is the globe as I have lived in Dubai over the past 16 years I have been influenced by many different cultures from all over the globe. In these years I have developed an understanding to the different customs as our school has over 100 different nationalities. My whole way of thinking has changed if compared to a normal Belgian student that just lived in Belgium his whole life.
My favorite drama technique would have to be split scene because you can actually portray a situation while a different scenario is taking place just a few feet away on the same stage. It can also give the scene more structure along with giving the audience enough information to completely understand the act/scene.
