How Can GOLD Help Locally? • Organize activities of interest to younger and older professionals under a GOLD Affinity Group • Organize programs which promote GOLD member participation in chapter activities • GOLD members can run chapter activities • GOLD members can be used as a link between the section and students (e.g., mentoring) • Increase resources by recruiting new members • Hold networking meetings to encourage communication between all members
Future directions • IEEE Global: • Establish a GOLD transition package for students • Build and roll out a customizable multimedia promotional package • Build and roll out a best practices web guide • IEEE Canada: • Select a regional GOLD Coordinator for 2002-2003 • Establish a dynamic GOLD network in the region • Keep promoting GOLD Group formation and student branch/GOLD/section integration activities
