Programs: • Kids Don’t Float • State of Alaska Office of Boating Safety purchases lifejackets and provides peer educator curriculum. • McDonalds™ Ice Cream Certificates • Free ice cream certificates at McDonalds™ for children wearing lifejackets – certificates mailed each spring to communities*. • Boating Education classes • Provided by the State of Alaska, the Alaska Marine Safety Education Association and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. • Vessel Safety Checks and RBS Visitor Program • Free – provided by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. *Communities without a local McDonald’s™ do not receive certificates.
