  1. ISSUES OF THE HEART I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26

  2. ISSUES OF THE HEART Clothe yourself with the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.  1 Pet. 3:4

  3. ISSUES OF THE HEART 16 And after the Levites left,  those from all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heart to seek the Lord God of Israel,  came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the Lord God of their fathers. 2 Chron. 11:16

  5. ISSUES OF THE HEART My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;I will sing and give praise. Ps. 57:7

  6. ISSUES OF THE HEART 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts;  and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.  Jer. 31:33

  7. ISSUES OF THE HEART Now the multitude of those who believed  were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. Acts 4:32

  8. ISSUES OF THE HEART 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 2 Cor. 4:16

  9. ISSUES OF THE HEART I pray that the eyes of your hearts will be enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, Eph. 1:18

  10. ISSUES OF THE HEART do the will of God with all your heart. Eph. 6:6

  11. ISSUES OF THE HEART • EXAMINE OUR HEART (2 COR. 13:5) Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.

  12. ISSUES OF THE HEART Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. PS. 19:14

  13. ISSUES OF THE HEART 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. PS. 139:23-24

  14. ISSUES OF THE HEART • GOD KNOWS THE MOTIVES OF OUR HEART For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. HEB. 4:12

  15. ISSUES OF THE HEART II. PURIFY YOUR HEART (James 4:8) Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

  16. ISSUES OF THE HEART Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and every expression of evil, and humbly receive the word planted in you, which can save your souls. James 1:21

ISSUES OF THE HEART • GUARD AGAINST A HARDENED HEART 12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;  13but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.  HEB. 3:112-13

  18. WHAT GOD WILL DO WITH OUR SINS • FORGIVE OUR SINS (1 JOHN 1:9) • CAST THEM INTO THE SEA (MICAH 7:19) • TAKE THEM AWAY (ISAIAH 7:19) • COVER THEM (PSALM 32:1) • WIPE THEM OUT (ACTS 3:19) • REMEMBER THEM NO MORE (HEB. 8:12) • REMOVE THEM AS FAR AS TE EAST IS FROM THE WEST (PSALM 103:12)

  19. ISSUES OF THE HEART III. TURN OUR HEART (JOEL 2:12-13) “Now, therefore,” says the LORD, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”

  20. ISSUES OF THE HEART 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments;Return to the Lord your God,For He is gracious and merciful,Slow to anger, and of great kindness;And He relents from doing harm.

  21. ISSUES OF THE HEART • WE NEED TO CHOOSE TO “SET” OUR PRIORITIES If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above,  where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind (hearts) on things above, not on things on the earth COL. 3:1-2
