  2. How to find each value… • a is the amplitude. (Max – Min) / 2 • b is found by 2π / Period • c is the horizontal translation of the curve. It is normally easiest to find this value last by substitution • d is the same as the value of the principle axis; (Max + Min) / 2

  3. Example 1 6 Amplitude =(Max – Min) /2 = (13 – 7) / 2 = 3 b a c d

  4. Example 1 6 b = 2π / Period = 2π / (7 – 1) = π / 3 b c d

  5. Example 1 c = horizontal translation = 1 c d

  6. Example 1 d= vertical translation = 10 d
