High Altitude Balloon Launch Omaha Public SchoolsMay 22, 2012
The balloon was launched from the Strategic Air and Space Museum with the help of Michael Sibbernsen, the Science and Technology Coordinator for the facility. • The balloon traveled to 98,000 feet (18.5 miles!) before bursting. The payload landed 3 miles west of Nebraska City, just north of Highway 2. • All of the experiments were recovered, and data is now being studied.
Following slides show a few of the pictures taken from the High Altitude Balloon Launch for the Omaha Public Schools.
