Possible word association: mercurial • Mercurial: “characterized by rapid and unpredictable changeableness of mood” • Speech begins like a fairy tale- whimsical enchanted description. Takes a dark turn. The imp can be come angry- queen becomes an evil nymph. • Could Mercutio’s speech be a warning? A reflection of the play itself? Sweet/innocent to dark/despairing
