GIS ’05 is Networks ‘92 • GIS is largely exclusive to big companies. • Online GIS is rarer still. • ESRI & AutoDesk rule GIS. • Online GIS is too difficult and expensive to be taken seriously.
Networks in ‘05 • Residential networks are common. • Anyone can install a wireless network. • Anyone can install a firewall. • D-Link & NetGear rule the network.
