  1. Alumni of Science Post-graduates of University of Madras (ASPUM) Our main objective is to improve networking within Madras University alumni.

  2. Annual meetings The First ASPUM meeting at Hotel Sheraton West, Atlantic City, NJ on Monday, July 5th, 1999. The second ASPUM meeting was held on July 4th 2004. Place: "FeTNA 2004" July 2,3,4 and 5, 2004; Baltimore, MD We are in the process of organizing 3rd annual meeting July 3rd 2006 in New York.

  6. Beyond Networking: ASPUM has established funds to honor our dear Professors who have made a big impact on our lives. The funds allow the Departments of Biochemistry at both AC College & Taramani host scientists from both India and abroad for lectures, and buy scientific books.

  11. The Sambandam Endowment FundEstd: 2006 Dr. T. Sambandam (Sam) served as President ofASPUM2004-2005 passed away suddenly after a brief illness on May 25th 2005 at his residence in Birmingham Alabama.

  12. The University of Madras Senate House Renovation Fund Estd: 2006 Our tally up until now, which we have sent through the Tamil Nadu Foundation has been $5, 109.

  13. Future goals: • We have only 100 members.
