    4. Role Profiling .. Need to clarify Why is the role needed? How will the role interact with other roles? What are the main tasks? Types of interaction within the role? Any special qualifications required for the role? Standards expected of the role? Any personal characteristics the would not suit the role? Any distinctive personalities for the role? How will the role develop?

    5. Candidate Attraction Where to advertise the position? How to word the advertisement? Should the company use an employment agency? What is the cost of the agency and/or advertisement? How will the candidate apply?

    6. Selection Process Use an interview checklist Ask open ended questions Ask unconventional questions Find out what is important to the candidate Listen Involve other staff Check references (Immink &O’Kane )

    7. Establishing the Job Contract .. Need to consider Job title and description Salary Normal hours of work Holidays Required notice of resignation Grievance procedures Anything specific to the company and/or industry
