  1. Enduring Faith Hebrews 12: 1-3

  2. “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” -Hebrews 12: 1-3

  4. Faithful Cloud of Witnesses • Join faithful witnesses • What type of people will you be around this summer? • Faithful witnesses are vital “Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” -Proverbs 27:17

  5. Be Aware of the Enemy “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” -1 Peter 5:8

  7. Be Aware of the Enemy • Sin easily entangles • Appears in various ways • What situations are you vulnerable in? • -Isolation, Idleness, Friends, Co-Workers?

Ultimate Game Plan • Fix your eyes on Jesus • “…fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12 : 2 • Focus on the joy before you • Gain perspective • “For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12 : 3

  9. “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to You on the water.” And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” -Matthew 14: 28-30

  10. Prepare Now • Who will surround you this summer? • Take initiative now in setting up faithful witnesses • What steps do you need to take to guard against sin? • Look at the life of Jesus through the Gospels this summer • Focus on the Glorious Gospel of Jesus through prayer.
