  2. Involves improving the effectiveness of a passage through careful revision and editing. • Frequently, strategy questions will ask: • Choose the most appropriate topic • Choose a transitional sentence for a paragraph.

  3. This part of testwill have youchoose the best option • for strengthening an argument • by adding information or evidence. • by deletingan argument • by identifying the purpose of a passage—audience/message

  4. Transitions and Topic Sentences • Best way to open or conclude paragraphs • Best way to have each paragraph linked to the other paragraphs

  5. Big Picture Purpose • On each English Test, you’ll probably encounter a few Big Picture Purpose questions. • These questions always come at the end of a passage. • Like a movie you watch --- why is it good or bad.

  6. These questions resemble some of the questions on the reading portion. • BPP questions do test your comprehension of the passage—just like the reading test
