How Were People Affected? People left South Carolina because life was so harsh Many families had to sell everything they owned If you were a farmer you risked dying of starvation
Fdr The new deal On March 4, 1933 FDR was elected president He had an idea called the New Deal The New Deal provided jobs and money for the needy Security provided a safety net so The Great Depression wouldn’t happen again
Interesting Facts People built houses with whatever materials they had Some chewed there hands until they drew blood Three million kids dropped out of school because they didn’t have enough money Luckily there has not been a depression as bad as the Great Depression again.
