  2. LONG – TERM GOALS • Adapt 21st century teaching approaches to enhance students appreciation of mathematics. • To develop mathematical mind of students .

  3. SHORT – TERM GOALS • To develop conceptual thinking by mental calculations. • To enhance calculation skills through word problems. • To organize group discussions to develop questioning skills .

  4. Instructional Strategies • I will encourage the students to do their mental calculations in order to enhance mental calculation skills. • I will provide them different calculation tips as a tool to involve them so that they can enjoy maths and have fun instead of getting bored. • I will try my level best that my students must produce their interest in maths .

  5. Solutions to Anticipated Challenges CHALLANGES SOLUTIONS • Children have weak calculation skills so they get distracted. • Some students have slow conceptual skills. • Some parents are not much responsible regarding their children academics and they are least bothered. • I will provide them extra class and extra time so that their calculation skills be improved. • They will be provided with extra work sheets so that they can enhance the conceptual skills . • They will be guided that mathematical skills are very necessary for their child’s mental growth.

TIME LINE • AUGUST – SEPTEMBER • OCTOBER – DECEMBER • JANUARY – FEBRUARY • MARCH – APRIL • I will manage groups for group discussions • I will focus on questioning. • I will organize mathematical quiz to enhance mathematical skills. • I will produce an environment of critical thinking by applying 21st century approch.

  7. RESOURCE Different maths puzzle books from the library or bookstalls Other teachers who teach my grade and subject Internet , word , Excel

  8. CONCLUSION By implementing my newly acquired 21st century teaching approaches. Students will be encouraged and empowered and will appreciate to gain better knowledge of mathematics.

  9. SHORT – TERM GOALS • Change my questioning strategies with students to promote critical – thinking. • To develop analytical mind of students towards mathematics. • To develop conceptual understanding of students towards mathematics.
