Responding to Alerts – Overview • Receive the alert email notification. • Acknowledge the alert.* • Create a response. • If necessary, edit the response. • Approve the response.* • If necessary, update the response with errata. * Required before due date.
Responding to Alerts – Notification • Notification of a new alert is sent to your email from alerts@nercalerts.com. • Go to the URL https://www.nercalerts.com in the notification email to login and read the alert.
Logging In Address bar Login Go to https://www.nercalerts.comand type your email address and password.
Logging In Login button Click Login.
Reading Alerts Alerts link Click the Alerts link at the top of the page.
Reading Alerts List of alerts A list of alerts appears.
Reading Alerts Alert title link Click the title of the alert to read it.
Reading Alerts Type Handling Industry Advisory alerts do not require a response.
Alert Types Alert Type n Industry Advisory n Recommendation to Industry* n Essential Action Notification* * Denotes that a response is required
Alert Handling Levels Handling Level n Public n Private n Sensitive n Confidential* * Can only be seen by Company Officers
Responding to Alerts – Acknowledge Type Acknowledge and response form Alert Due Dates Recommendation to Industry and Essential Action Notification alerts require a response.
Responding to Alerts – Acknowledge Acknowledge button Click the Acknowledge button.
Responding to Alerts – Acknowledge Entities Select your Entities.
Responding to Alerts – Acknowledge Acknowledge for selected button Click Acknowledged for Selected.

Responding to Alerts – Create Response • Answer the response questions • Text • Radio button selection • Yes/No checkbox • Upload supporting documentation • Submit one response for multiple entities

Responding to Alerts – Edit Response • Allows you to change your answers to the response questions • You can continue to change your response until it is approved

Responding to Alerts – Approve • After a response is submitted, a Company Officer can approve the response. • Responses must be approved on or before the due date. • Reminder emails are sent 24 hours before a response is due.

Entering Errata • Errata allows you to change your response to an approved alert • Errata must be re-approved by a Company Officer
Entering Errata – Add Addresponse button Click Add.
Entering Errata – Add View Response to Enter Errata link Click View Response to Enter Errata.
Entering Errata – Add Enter Errata button Click Enter Errata.
Entering Errata – Add Response form Enter your errata response.
Entering Errata – Add Document upload form Upload errata documents.
Entering Errata – Add Save button Click Save.
