“Fear Not”. Two Little Words of Comfort in Time of Need. “Fear Not”. Not all fear is wrong; the “fear of the Lord” (reverence, respect) is the beginning of knowledge (Prov. 1:7) “Fear” that is dread, fright, scared or terror has no place in the life of a Christian (2 Timothy 1:7).

  2. “Fear Not” • Not all fear is wrong; the “fear of the Lord” (reverence, respect) is the beginning of knowledge (Prov. 1:7) • “Fear” that is dread, fright, scared or terror has no place in the life of a Christian (2 Timothy 1:7)

  5. What is it we are not to fear? • Disciples must not fear God’s responsibilities • Joseph (Matthew 1:20) • Zacharias (Luke 1:13) • Mary (Luke 1:30) • Peter (Luke 5:10,11) • Jewish ruler (Lk. 8:50)

  6. What is it we are not to fear? • Disciples must not fear the future • The women (Mt. 28:5,10) • Apostles (Lk. 12:32) • Disciples (Jn. 12:15) • John (Revelation 1:17) • Paul (Acts 27:23-25)

  7. What is it we are not to fear? • Disciples must not fear the future • The future is always uncertain. It may hold tragedy. It may hold spiritual opportunities. Paul saw both. • We can be assured God is in the future of the faithful Christian (1 Peter 5:6-7)

  8. “Fear Not” • No fear with God is on our side • Only fear when God is not on our side (Matthew 10:28)
