Noun • Person, place, thing, or idea. • School, is great,
Pronoun • A word that replaces a noun or other pronoun and used as the subject of a sentence PPRO= a word that shows ownership or possession. • He is fast.
Verb • A word that can express actions, events, or states a being. • He can jump high.
Adjective • A word that describes or modifies a noun or pronoun; it answers a question which one? What kind? How many? • The truck is red.
Adverb • A word that modifies a verb, or adjective, or another adverb; answers the questions where? When? How? • He ran very quickly.
Conjunction • Connects words, phases, and sentences in a sentence. • My dog can run and jump.
Preposition • Connects nouns, pronouns, and other phases to other words in the same sentence. A prepositional phase is made up of a preposition and an object and can have an article or adjective. • I go to sleep under the trampoline.
Interjection • An interjection is a word that is added to a sentence to convey emotion. WOW! Oh no! Gee! • Wow! That car is fast.
