  1. Agent and Grids Next Stepshttp://users.cs.cf.ac.uk/O.F.Rana/nesc-732/

  2. Types of interactions • Use case document • Use of OGF format (via either Semantic Grid or GRAAP group) • Scenario’s of use • What problems can agent-techniques help solve in particular application scenarios? • What is the value add from existing Grid infrastructure

  3. Types of scenarios • Mobile Grid scenario (Tom Kirkham) • Monitoring data use (Mark Baker) • Data replication/accounting (Xiaoyuchen) • Airplane engine maintenance management (Steve Willmott) – multiple • Insurance repair scenario (Steve Willmott) • Software Licensing (Steve Willmott) • Data interchange between healthcare providers (Steve Willmott) • Reputation/electronic commerce (Sebastian and George) • Social network on Grid users/Wiki-type (Isaac Chao) • Scenarios from ArguGrid – satellite data for disaster management (Moustafa) • Pervasive domain/sensor networks (Dave de Roure) • Marine Biology user scenario/ocean monitoring (Jessica Chen Burger) • Fire/Disaster Management (Jessica Chen Burger)

  4. Time line • Omer and Julian – produce Google doc template (end of February) • People to work over March – use cases • Over April: Julian and Omer to review • Feedback in May – update to end of May • Target for October 2007 • Next OGF20: Manchester (May 2007) or OGF21 (October 2007)

  5. Publications • Workshops • “Service Level Agreements” at IEEE/ACM Grid 2007 (Austin, Texas) – September 2007 • OGF20: “Dynamic SLAs” (waiting? – will know by Friday – alert everyone on the mailing list) – in Manchester, May 2007 • Policy/SLAs – IEEE ICAC 2007 (June 2007 – Jacksonville, Florida). CoreGrid Springer. • COIN 2007 (Coordination, Org. Inst. & Norms), Durham, 3-4 Sept, 2007. Call to go out TODAY!. Deadline: June 1, 2007.

  6. Joint Publication • Survey article – ACM Surveys • Topics for this • Special Issue of Journals • Journal of Web Semantics etc (Carole Goble) • ACM Trans. On Autonomic and Adaptive Systems (Giovanna) • Journal of Multi-Agent and Grids (Huaglory) • AAMAS journal (Sycara et al.)

  7. Book Chapters“Agent-based Grid Computing” (IOS Press) • Intention to submit: mid March • Mail to attendees list • Identify additional potential contributors • Provide guidance on chapters – then ask contributors to provide input for these • First draft: mid June • Comments: Julian and Omer to provide feedback • Include discussion – summary of this. • Mail to attendees list to contribute to report of event • Summary of report to be included in book – all contributors will be authors

  8. WS-Agreement implementation • Converge telecon. • Who has implemented what? • Whether there is interest in coordinating implementation? • Potential: March 16 @ 14:00 CET (confirm week) • Max: 1 hour • Mail: attendees list • Indicate interest • Omer to confirm whether March 16 works for everyone • Frances, Shamima, George, Martin, Sebastian, Steve, Laszlo, Liviu, Julian, Omer • Oliver Waldrich and Wolfgang Ziegler • Philipp Wieder (?) • Fundamental hook to agents

  9. FP7 Possibilities • First call deadline: May 8 • Network of Excellence (NoE) or Coordinated Action (CSA) • Also consider SOKU vision – close alignment with SLAs and Grids • Service Level Agreement and Electronic Contracts • Agile Services • NESSI (interaction with them?) • Positive: Good interaction: • Negative: Overlap with strategic objectives • CSA may be more complementary to NESSI projects

  10. Service Level Agreements/Agile Services • Identify some bullet points on “key themes” in this area • Identify potential partners/participants – with their particular expertise • Potential Google Doc? • Julian: send a mail to a mailing (interest?) • Put together a Google Doc (identify bullet points) • Mail to mailing list: February 27 • Indicate interest: March 7 • Google Doc: mid March

  11. Deliverables • Use case document • Summary of discussion  potential for chapters in book • Analysis of WS-Agreement implementation • Interest in FP7 NoE or CSA
