Mission Statement The Mission of Ss. Colman-John Neumann School is to teach as Jesus did by weaving faith, community and service into our curriculum. Our school provides students in preschool through eighth grade with a challenging and successful academic program. Partnering with families, we prepare the students academically and spiritually to become moral and compassionate leaders.
We Are Continuing to Flourish & Grow • Increased enrollment for the second year in a row! • Total enrollment: 280 from preschool through grade 8 • 59 preschool students • 220 grades k-8 (was 199 three years ago) • 191 families • Last year our 8th grade class won numerous scholarships to Archbishop Carroll, Archmere Academy, Merion Mercy Academy, The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, St. Joseph Prep and Malvern Prep.
UPDATES • Meet the outstanding faculty! • There are some changes to the Report Cards that the teachers will address with you • My Students Progress • You have all received your username and password and were asked to log in to make any corrections. If you need assistance, please contact Mr. Raimondi at mraimondi@scjnschool.org • Tracking your child’s progress • Lunch ordering through MSP • New Journeys Reading Program in grades K-5 • 35 new desktops purchased • Speak Up! New program for 7th & 8th grade students • Student Council representatives from grades 3-7 • Social Justice – 7th & 8th grade students will go to places outside of the school community
Students in grades 5 though 8 one-to-one with iPads. • Students in preschool through grade 4 may utilize the iPad carts and laptop carts • All teachers had Professional Development on Tuesday, September 2nd from the DCIU on using iPads in the classroom • Miss Leone and Miss Goane attended a class during the summer on iPad usage in the classroom • Updated website • Main means of communication • Working on an online directory • Working on a new site
Middle States Update • Mrs. Venezia and Miss Cranage are co-chairs • In the final phase before the team comes to visit, • Our school visit will begin on March 15 and conclude on March 18th • All of the faculty collaborates together on different committees then come together to share and analyze the work by each committee • A Planning Committee meets periodically to review and confirm the faculty’s work. • Consists of parents, faculty, former faculty and principals
Terra Nova Scores • Our Terra Nova scores are in the top 15% in the nation, which is Blue Ribbon Status.

Tuition Assistance • We encourage all parents to apply for assistance through BLOCS. An application can be found online on our website. • 12 children in 5 families were assisted this year • Companies may donate their own tax money directly to SCJN to assist parents in our school • This year we were fortunate that one parent owned company donated $25,000 of their tax money to SCJN another company that we deal with gave us $5,000. • Would like to form a committee to work on getting the word out to local companies.
