  11. Add these words to the message below: So, what I’m saying is… Basically… I mean… The team’s performance has been poor. We missed our targets by 35% last quarter. We need to find a way to improve performance. How do these phrases change the message?

  12. Reorganise the sentences to make a clear message: • So, what we need to do is go back to • the client for more information. • For example, we don’t know how many users • will be using the system. • Well, we don’t have enough information • to complete the specification.

  13. Managing Others • Reformulation • so you feel… so what you’re saying is… • Agree - Disagree • I see what you mean but… I understand but… • Softening & Hedging • it is – it might be, that’s a problem – that’s a bit of an issue
