Our Environmental Health Officers carry out routine inspections of all food premises including: • restaurants • cafés • shops • hospitals • nursing homes • mobile food traders • pubs and hotels
Following each inspection the business is • given a rating which can range from: • zero (urgent improvement necessary) to • five (very good). asdfasdf • Results of all ratings are published • on the national website.
Businesses are supplied with a certificate and window sticker to advertise their rating. • These should be clearly visible in all food premises in the district. A certificate: A window sticker:

You may know where you want to eat locally but if you are going on holiday you can search where you are going to. • The result • for Torquay:
Currently there are over 152,000 businesses • included on the national scheme with approximately • 650 launching the Scheme in Huntingdonshire. • More than 250 Local Authorities have, so far, signed up for the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme. • Numbers are growing all the time and the Food Standards Agency anticipate that around 95% of authorities will be in the scheme by summer 2012. • This is excellent news for consumers and businesses across the three countries.
