Technique Training Cricket Bats Over the past few months I have had the opportunity to work in the nets using a new range of Technique Training Cricket Bats developed by a Perth based business named Force Train Better. Of the Technique Training Cricket Bats that I have tried before (and lets face it, there are not many around) these bats are highly impressive and in my view that given my batting a completely new dimension when it comes to strength, bat control, endurance and footwork, Being a natural right handed person who bats left handed in cricket I find that throughout stroke play I tend to generate all my power and control from my top hand. To me it is only common sense and natural. So I find it strange when I hear players and coaches going on about how players using their bottom hand to add power to back foot shots and over the top front foot shots. These players are of course right handed batsmen who are naturally right handed. Therefore, there is a natural tendency to bring their right hand (the low hand) in shot play to generate power and control direction. When I first started using the new range of Force Train Better Weighted Cricket Technique Bats if found that when trying to practice front foot over the top shots and the back foot shots; the hook, the pull and the cut; I needed to bring my lower hand (weaker left hand) into the fold just to help me get through the shot. As a natural right handed person with a lot of top hands in my game I have never been able to hit the ball down the ground and over the top for six. I can get over the top, but because of the top hand dominance the balls generally land somewhere between deep long off or long on and the boundary. After using the weighted bats for six weeks and then reverting back to my normal bat, I found that when I went up and over a lot more bottom hand was coming through and as such my shots had more elevation and were travelling in the air longer. Likewise, if I rock back to hook or pull my shots tend to go squarer of the wicket and up and over when I bring the lower hand through. I am also getting more placement control with the cut shot because I can get a bit more bottom hand into with tends to allow me to place the shot.
Silly as it may sound my gold swing has also improved. As with cricket I play left handed, but being naturally right handed I am all top hands in the swing. Often coaches have said to me that through impact my lower hand (left hand) should come through and swipe the ball. It never happened, but now with more strength in my left hand slowly developing I am finding that I can bring it into play with my golf swing. Not sure what effect all this will all have on my batting average or golf handicap but I believe these weighted bats and the technology itself have improved my game as far as hand action and hand impact go. I also feel at lot stronger at the crease and my bat 2 LB 10 feels like a toothpick giving me far greater control over it and the ability to adjust my shots when I need to general get more timing into my shots. Highly impressed and highly recommended.
