Introduction & Vision • NLUJAA being a young University, it needs strong academic and administrative vision to achieve all round development to make it a Best University both nationally and internationally. • To make NLUJAA as a dynamically vibrant academic institution and to achieve the objectives of it, the vision of an academic head of the University shall be: • NLUJAA will have a comprehensive legal acumen with inter-disciplinary approach to meet the demands of the Bench, Bar, teaching professions and the society. • To develop vibrant techniques in teaching, research to meet the growing demands of present era of globalization. • To achieve the vision the following mission will be adopted to make NLUJAA as a cutting edge institution.

Administration • A transparent good governance. • Effective, Responsive, Accountable, Equitable and Consensus administrative outlook. • Involvement of all the stakeholders of the institution. • Equitable inclusive justice to all sections of the University. • To create friendly atmosphere to shape everyone’s future to lead a successful vibrant life.

  4. Academic • To enrich the existing LL.B. (Hons) programme with comprehensive and critical techniques of research and practical orientation of legal knowledge to understand the core legal values and institutes to analyse law with its broader interdisciplinary outlook. • To impart the techniques of legal profession with dynamic outlook of legislative and administrative process to develop lively agents of law to reach the ladder of justice administration. • To provide structured approach to study the developments in law and other fields with transferable skills in Oral, Written and Presentation techniques. • To conduct regular conferences, seminars, workshops, web based learning with partners of academic, governmental, non-governmental and international organisations.

  5. Post Graduate & Research • To develop a sound legal acumen with skills to carry for an enhanced critical, logical interpretative thinking and argumentative techniques with advanced intellectual capacities to understand the legal intricacies with a comprehensive knowledge to meet the professional and personal interests to equip with specialized knowledge need to have One Year LL.M. Programme and advanced PG programmes of Integrated nature. • To meet the above requirements it need to have a set pattern of Schools/Centers of advanced study with excellent faculty to lead them. • School of Law, Policy and Governance • School of Commercial and Corporate Law • School of International, Comparative Legal Studies • School of Juridical and Area Studies • These schools will conduct programmes leading to Doctoral studies, Post Graduate Studies and Post Graduate Diploma Programmes with flexi models of legal suitability and acumen.

Proposed Programmes LL.M Programmes Post Graduate Diploma Programme • International Business Law and Management • Corporate and Commercial Law • International Law and Human Rights • Legal Pedagogy and Research • Constitutional, Administrative and Comparative Law • Law Science and Technology • Some of these programmes may be offered in distance mode with two years duration. • Four years Integrated Masters Programme in Law with Hons (3+1) _____________________________ • Certificate Courses for • Law Clerks • Drafting of Legal Documents • International Economic Law • Corporate Law and Corporate Governance • Alternative Dispute Redressal Mechanism • Judicial Education for Legal Professionals • Law and Medicine • Tribal Rights • Human rights and Duties Education • Comparative law and Private International Law • Forensic and Cyber Law • Media and C0mmunications Law • Law and Management of Tourism • Public Law and Torts • Law of Public Utilities Certificate Courses

Research • Research being the basic component to serve the society at large, the university will develop research skills amongst the faculty and students with critical interdisciplinary output by establishing research chairs of contemporary concerns of the society with the help of Governmental, Non-Governmental, Inter-Governmental and philanthropists to undertake research in order to promote exclusive and inclusive growth apart from regular Doctoral Programmes. • As institutions play a vital role in delivering justice to have an effective justice delivery system in the state and country, the University will focus on collaborative research with Judiciary, the Governmental Organisations, Academic institutions to Promote judicial and Administrative discourses.

RESOURCES • Resources of both economic and human knowledge play a vital role in building an institution. • The University to meet its academic and research pursuits need to have the mandatory 12 (B) recognition. This will be fulfilled with in a quick span of time. • To obtain sponsored and collaborative research projects from International, Governmental and other agencies. • To have a Chair on Minerals and Mines to promote the Rich resources of the State and to undertake consultancy projects. • Encourage faculty to apply for projects from national and international institutions. • Tie-ups with other established research institutions in the state, country and international institutions to mobilise research grants and specific studies. • To have a well equipped library with modern state of Art and facilities.

Contd…… • To Register the University with the ERASMAS and other British and American Fellowship programmes. • To Develop E-based content, Video Conferencing, E-lecture facilities. • E-based journals and E-tie-ups with foreign and Indian universities. • To establish a Language Lab to remedy and enhance the Speech, Participatory and writing skills of the students. • Earn and Learn Scheme for students.

  10. Directorate of International Students • To emulate the Success story of the University of Pune and to meet the global standards, to build international partnerships, the University will have a Directorate of International Students. • To develop partnerships, international fellowships, international associations, to have foreign collaborative research projects especially in the field of law and other interdisciplinary aspects as per the vision of the University. • The directorate will coordinate as a main centre with foreign institutes to develop links with various governmental and non-governmental organisations to promote research grants, exchange programmes for faculty and students.

  11. School of Distance and Continuing Education • To promote the nuances of law across various sections of the state and the country, the University with the help of its schools/ centers' of studies develop short term, long term programmes. • It will introduce tailor made programmes to train young lawyers in the art of drafting, pleading and analytical critical thinking of law and research. • To train Government officials it will evolve suitable modules of governance, legislative and other important aspects. • Programmes on Judicial Education to judges and lawyers of different strata. • Programmes of special importance to the State of Jharkhand. • Exclusive, Inclusive programmes to address the concerns of society to achieve the tenets of Social Justice Philosophy of Constitution and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. • Programmes on Sarvodaya Model to achieve Gram Swaraj as visualized by Mahatma Gandhi and the legal ethos of Indian constitution.

  12. Teacher & Judicial Programmes • To improve the standards of teachers of law in the State, the university apart from its visualized goals would also take lead to conduct regular teacher related programmes to develop pedagogical skills in different fields of law with an interdisciplinary approach. • To have wider interaction and to develop a sustained bench bar relations, the University with the help of Judiciary and Judicial Academy of the State will develop Judicial Educational Programmes to inculcate the idea of Judiciary, as a career on the lines of civil law countries than considering it as an award or reward of the common law countries thinking.

  13. Conclusion • Apart from the above, the University to groom its students, faculty and researchers will have Legal Literacy Programmes, Advocacy and Skill development, Innovative teaching techniques, Public Utility services et. al., will be undertaken. • With the long experience in teaching, research and academic administration, apart from the few stated objective percepts to shape the University, if provided with an opportunity to serve this institution as its head I will provide a sincere, dedicated exemplary leadership for the development of the University to reach the top of the ladder in the annals of legal education with utmost sincerity without any inclination towards one-upmanship with my proven track record.
