Facts We Know • The local church is authorized by God as a functional collection of Christians to worship together and do the work He authorizes • God intends for Christians to be members of a local church • A congregation is to be independent of all other congregations and to be self- governing

  3. Facts We Know • The successful accomplishment of a local church’s work and worship depends on the participation of each of its members • The work, worship and organization of the church is set forth in scripture

  4. Knowledge vs. Practice • Most churches not as successful as they could be • Most work done by only a few • Many become “spectators”

  5. What I Need To Do • Realize I am bought with a price & am not my own; we are His! • 1 Corinthians 6:20 • Join myself with other saints • Acts 9:26; Hebrews 13:7, 17 • There is work for me to do • 1 Corinthians 12:14-23; Ephesians 4:16 • Be dependable

  6. What I Need To Do • Understand I must answer for self • Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10 • Don’t judge self by others • 2 Corinthians 10:12 What if every member were asinvolved in the work here as you?

  7. What Must I Do To Be Saved? • Hear the gospel (Romans 10:17) • Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37) • Repent of my sins (Acts 17:30) • Confess my faith in Jesus (Matthew 10:32) • Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38) • Faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
