Fraction:- A fraction means a part of a group or of a region. 3/5 is a fraction. We read it as “three-fifths” what does “5” stands for ? It is a number of equal parts into which whole has been divided. What does “3” stands for ? It is a number of equal parts which have been taken out. Here “3” is called numerator and “5” is called the denominator. pictures
Proper fraction: In a fraction, the numerator is less the denominator. E,g 3/5 ,4/6, 5/8 3/8 4/6
