Graves’ disease A type of autoimmune problem that causes the thyroid gland to make too much thyroid hormone, which is called hyperthyroidism.
Symptoms The only type of hyperthyroidism that involves eye inflammation and bulginess. Graves’ orbitopathy or Graves’ ophthalmopathy.
Treatments Radioiodine therapy: Where you drink a liquid with radioactive iodine in it. Medications: Beta Blockers or Anti Thyroids. Thyroid Surgery: They remove your thyroid and later on do hormone surgery.
Completely curable? Graves’ Disease does not go away. It’s ‘autoimmune’.
