Luke talks about Jesus growth in four areas: wisdom, stature, favor with God and favor with man.
What are common terms that we use for these four areas?
Help participants discover these areas utilize group participation
They are wisdom, physical, spiritual and social.
Note: Remember that the person who was writing this description of Jesus growth was a medical doctor who was trained to carefully observe and describe. Further, it is interesting to remember that Dr. Luke was writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. So it is reasonable to conclude that God directed this description of Jesus development to indicate in a summarized form the key categories of Jesus development.
There are other terms and categories such as those listed by Maslow in his Hierarchy of Hunan Need but it is interesting that all areas of human need and growth can be listed in these four categories.Methodologies: Discovery Questions

In our world today, we have had an assumption that development is about creating affluence rather than creating adequacy.
Jesus was perfectly developed in every way spiritually, physically, socially and in wisdom
YET, his societal conditions were simply adequate.
This is good news for all - particularly those in the developing world who have adequate but not affluent conditions.
This is not to say that higher education isnt something that would be valuable for those who can get it or creating free and just societies isnt important, but it is not a prerequisite for the biblical concept of development. Lack of affluence is not an excuse for not being developed.Methodologies: Lecture drawing conclusions
