Conclusion • While increases in employment are evident, a gender gap is glaringly obvious. • Women still do not figure prominently in the labour market, and are disadvantaged in terms of sector and employment status. • Apparent gains in female employment and unemployment are skewed by the majority of the women replacing men in unpaid positions as men gain salaried positions. • Benefits are reserved for women in salaried positions.
