Brno public transport • Consists of trams, city buses and trolley buses • The residence stop: “Klusáčková“ – tram 12 and 13 (in directions “Technologický park”) from “Česká” or “Hlavní nádraží” stop • During nights: Take bus #93 (in direction “Kolejní”) or #99 (in direction “Komín, sídliště”). Taxi • No standard price for taxi services, but drivers are required to display their prices, usually on the door. • A reasonable price is CZK 25 per km. • A drive from both Hlavnínádraží (the Main Railway Station) and Hotel Grand bus station to Kounicova Halls of Residence should cost approximately CZK120. • Don’t use taxi in Prague! You might get substantially overcharged there!

Safetyandsecurity • Generally low rate of crime in Czech Republic • Main problem: Street crime –particularly pick-pocketing and occasional mugging • Violent crime (still relatively infrequent), are becoming more common in Prague • Don’t take open drinks at bars or clubs • Be careful while riding trains, trams or metro, where most crime occurs • Watchoutthetraffic! • Keep a copy of your passport in a safe place separate from the passport itself!!!
