  3. Rev. 15: The Second Half Begins Matthew 24:21 “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

  4. Rev. 15:1-4 – The Victors The outpouring of God’s judgment on the world comes to a climax in this last set of judgments: The Bowl Judgments – v. 1.

  5. Rev. 15:3-4 - The Second Half Begins – The Victor’s Song The “song of… Moses and of the Lamb” is a song which exalts what God does as “great and marvelous” and “just and true”. Psalm 111:2,3; Deut. 32:4; Jer. 10:7; Psalms 86:9; 98:2 This is so different to how many respond.

  6. Rev. 15:3-4 - The Second Half Begins – The Victor’s Song One of the fundamental truths of God is that He is god of righteous and justice. To fail to understand that is to fail to understand the significance of grace and mercy. To fail to understand that is to fail to understand the book of Revelation. To fail to understand that is to fail to understand our God.

  7. Rev. 15:3-4 - The Second Half Begins – The Victor’s Song To fail to understand that is to fail to understand the book of Revelation. To fail to understand that is to fail to understand our God.

  8. Rev. 15:4 - The Second Half Begins – The Victor’s Song “Bring glory to your name” God will be shown to be right. Phil. 2:9-11 “Holy” Special, separated, set apart. God is unlike any other!

  9. Rev. 15:5-8 – The Tabernacle of Testimony is Opened The Law is called “the Testimony” in the OT. Ex. 25:16-22 Humanity has rejected God’s Law.Rom. 2:15-17 There are consequences.

  10. Rev. 15:5-8 – The Tabernacle of Testimony is Opened “No one was able to enter” God’s wrath is kindled hot. What is about to happen is His work and His alone.

  11. Rev. 16 The Bowl Judgments As the final set of judgments fall on the earth, the intensity is evident by the recurrence of the word translated “loud”, elsewhere translate “great”: Great heat (16:9) Great earthquake (16:18 – 2Xs) Great hail (16:21) The full strength of God’s wrath is being felt!

  12. Rev. 16 The Bowl Judgments Dangerous and painful sores – v. 2 Oceans turned to blood, death of all living creatures – v. 3 Rivers (drinking water) turned to blood – v. 4 Parenthesis: Declaration of the righteousness of God’s judgments – vv. 5-7

  13. Rev. 16 The Bowl Judgments 4. Intense heat – vv. 8-9 5. Darkness and pain – vv. 10-11 6. Euphrates dried upand the armies gathered for Armageddon – vv. 12-14, 16 Warning to believers – v. 15 7. The earth is shaken! – vv. 17-21

  14. Rev. 16 The Bowl Judgments The armies of the earth are supernaturally persuaded that they can wage and win a war against the God who initiated these plaques. The waters of the earth are probably now unable to be used for transport so the drying of the Euphrates is significant for the coming battle.

  15. Rev. 16 The Bowl Judgments Megiddo is about 40 miles NW of Jerusalem and the scene of many battles in times past. The Judge of all the earth flattens the cities of the earth in response to their offensive. Jerusalem is divided into three parts by the earthquake.

  16. Rev. 16 The Bowl Judgments Rome’s judgments awaits, but she is next. So great is the devastation that the mountains and islands are impacted. Hailstones, 100 lbs. a piece, continue the devastation of the planet.

  17. Rev. 16:21 The Bowl Judgments Yet, for all of this “…men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.”

  18. Rev. 16:21 The Bowl Judgments God is right to do this, yet the issue is clear. Instead of accepting responsibility for their wrong, God is blamed, even cursed, for His response, much like a child angry with a parent rather than dealing with his fault.
