  13. About Nico van der Dussen Nico is a qualified chemical engineer, and worked for many years at the CSIR. A career change took him into web site design, which required a self managed server, and from there into information management in the engineering projects environment. Over the years Nico was involved with capex cost estimates for various potential mining projects, as well as cost management during the project execution phase for some that actually go ahead. These activities took him to Botswana, Lesotho, Angola, the DRC and Kazakhstan. The need for improved information management and information sharing was a problem that required a solution, and Nico joined the Saamwerkjoint venture as CTO providing such services to the engineering projects environment. At present Nico is still active in capex cost estimation as well as project management to actively be aware of the real requirements of clients. nvddussen@saamwerk.net http://www.saamwerk.co.za #SPSJHB 26 Feb 2011 @nicovddussen
