Yemen Protest • 3,000 Protesters • Started February 7, 2011 • Protesting Against President Saleh • President Saleh got rid of the law saying he was president for life, to try to calm down protesters
Muammar Gaddafi • President for 42 years • Vows to fight “to my last drop of blood” • Thinks the protesters are delusional • Told people that they could hurt protesters and they would not be stopped by authorities
Libya Protest • Protesting against President Muammar Gaddafi • Not aloud to fly above the country • Lots of protesters killed • Oil prices have risen up by a lot
Bahrain Protest • Using rubber bullets so protesters don’t get badly hurt • Kids are protesting also • 27 year-old protester killed causing protesters to get furious
Iran Protest • Started after popular uprising in Egypt • Dozens of protesters arrested • Protesters threw rocks, set fires, and chanted anti-government slogans
Algerian Protest • Government got rid of their state of emergency law that has existed since their civil war in 1992 • Protesting got banned, but the people protest anyway • 1000s of protesters fight with police
Fires • Tunisian man committing suicide inspired more than a dozen men to set themselves on fire • Over 3 dozen have set their selves on fire so far
Chinese Protest • Want fore food, work, fairness, and homes • Formed opposition groups
Morocco Protests • Mad at King • Citizens think the king has to much power • Protesting in streets
Ibrahim Dabbashi • U.N. ambassador • Lives in New York • Against Gaddafi ordering protesters to be killed • Thinks a genocide is happening in Libya
