Welcome to Lynchburg Community Action Group, Inc., a private non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which was started in 1965, assisting low-income families in Central Virginia to move from economic and social dependency to self-sufficiency. Lyn-CAG models the "one stop shop" approach in meetings clients' overall needs. Company Profile Lyn-CAG is an anti-poverty agency providing emergency assistance, training, and education to help low-income clients to become self-sufficient. Lyn-CAG employs 106 people and operates 20 programs. Its operating budget for 2001 was $6 million. Our Mission To effectively assist low-income families and individuals in the Central Virginia community to move from economic and social dependency, to self-sufficiency, by providing a responsive range of programs and services developed to meet the specific needs of the Central Virginia area.
