  3. Session Objective • How to use data to facilitate conversations & design professional development opportunities for student success.

  4. Creating a culture of inquiry for professional development On a scale of 1-5 • Examine and discuss data regarding student learning, persistence and attainment. • Disaggregate data by gender, age, race/ethnicity, enrollment status, etc. • Use data to identify strengths and areas needing improvement.

  5. Data to bring to the conversation • Institutional Data: • Student Persistence -- fall to spring, fall to fall • Successful course completion – developmental and gateway courses – in the first term and beyond • Disaggregated by age, gender, race/ethnicity, first generation status, enrollment status, etc. • Use of services data

  6. Data to bring to the conversation • Survey/focus group data: • CCSSE/SENSE • Noel-Levitz • Student focus groups • College surveys – classroom/student services • Surveys of students who are leaving the college
