Engineering Notebooks • A legal document detailing the design and development of a product or an idea. • Used to document intellectual property when requesting a patent. • Should show the iterations of the design process.
Engineering Notebook Best Practices • Notebook is bound and pages numbered • Sign inserts • Mark out and sign extra white space • Each page is signed, witnessed and dated • Table of Contents up-to-date • No loose papers Sample IED notebook page
Presentations • Always introduce yourself • Firm handshake • Eye contact • Time management • Keep text on slide to a minimum • Strong close • Students get feedback about their presentation EVERY time.
