  1. FAQ for Version. 1.1

  2. General Product Questions < Footprint > Q1: What are the e-STUDIO2505 Series? A1: The e-STUDIO2505 Series are completely new monochrome MFPs developed by Toshiba. This series can input and output A3/LD size data (*1) even though, the machines provide significant space savings to be only 65% of the existing model (e-STUDIO18). They offer not only compact design but also unique design. Functionally, these machines as the successors to the e-STUDIO18 and e-STUDIO243 Series can be replacements for the ones in that class. Three models are available as the e-STUDIO2505 Series; the e-STUDIO2505 with simple basic functions, the 3-in-1 e-STUDIO2505H with the Network function, and the e-STUDIO2505F with the Fax function in addition to the ones of the e-STUDIO2505H (*2). (*1) The document feeder is required to input A3/LD size data. (*2) The e-STUDIOS2505H and e-STUDIOS2505F will be launched a few months later. Q2: How are the e-STUDIO2505 Series positioned? A2: The e-STUDIO2505 Series are the successors to the e-STUDIO18, e-STUDIO243 and e-STUDIO245 Series. In particular, the e-STUDIO2505 is suited as a replacement for A3 monochrome low-cost models such as the e-STUDIO18, and the e-STUDIO2505H and e-STUDIO2505F are suited as replacements for A3 monochrome models such as the e-STUDIO223 and e-STUDIO243. An optimal e-STUDIO2505 Series model needs to be offered depending on the purpose for which the user is using the printer or MFP. In some cases, the e-STUDIO2505H and e-STUDIO2505F can be a replacement model for the e-STUDIO245 Series. This is the entry model of MFPs that can attract users of printers or A3 monochrome MFPs, with its support for A3 size and equipment with the color scanner function despite its compact design. Q3: What are the most appealing selling points of the e-STUDIO2505 Series ? A3: Compact Design: Even though these models require only 65% footprint compared to the existing model (e-STUDIO18), they support up to A4/LT size for drawers and scanners, and up to A3/LD size for SFB and ADF. Color Scanner: A color scanner is included as a standard, enabling data input to be more effective.High Reliability: The e-STUDIO2505 Series equipped with the same engine as the e-STUDIO2506 and e-STUDIO2507 Series (*) as upper models provides high reliability and durability regardless of its compact size. (*) The e-STUDIOS2506 and e-STUDIOS2507 will be launched a few months later. 577mm 540mm e-STUDIO2505 Series (w/Bypass & ADU) e-STUDIO18 (w/ Bypass) 390mm 607mm

  3. General Product Questions Q4: What are the main differences among the e-STUDIO2505 Series? A4: The e-STUDIO2505 is an extremely simple model, which supports Copy, GDI Print and Local TWAIN Scan functions. The e-STUDIO2505H is a 3-in-1 model, which supports the Network function (Print/Scan) and duplex printing. The e-STUDIO2505F is a 4-in-1 model, which supports the Fax function in addition to the ones of the e-STUDIO2505H.These three models of the e-STUDIO2505 Series are equipped with the same engine and similar in appearance, but differ in processor and memory use. (For more information, see the System section.) Q5: Who is the most favorable target customer of the e-STUDIO2505 Series? A5: This is best suited for users who usually print out in A4/LT but sometimes want to print out in A3/LD or use a scanner. The compact design is appreciated by users who have little space. Furthermore, users can make copies just by instinctively placing a document according to the orientation to copy it without regard to portrait or landscape orientation. The e-STUDIO2505 Series models, which produce output at higher speeds (25ppm) than the existing models (e-STUDIO18 (18ppm), e-STUDIO223(23ppm) and e-STUDIO243(24ppm)) to be replaced, can be offered to users who desire to enhance performance. The e-STUDIO2505 is a simple model equipped with a color scanner, enabling color data to be digitized at low cost in the modern world where color data is used for a variety of purposes. In addition to the color scan function, the e-STUDIO2505H and e-STUDIO2505F are equipped with Network and duplex printing functions, enabling the operation efficiency to be improved. By enhancing these advantages, the e-STUDIO2505 Series models can be replacements for monochrome printers or A3/LD monochrome MFPs. (Note) The e-STUDIO2505 Series models can be replacements for printers; however, there are many different types of printers.Although the e-STUDIO2505 Series offer cost-competitive models, competition against low-cost A4/A3 printers should be avoided because of the big difference in durability. Therefore, it is preferable to replace printers in the same speed range, or middle or upper class printers.

  4. Feature-specific Questions- General - Q6: What is the printing speed of the e-STUDIO2505 Series? A6: Q7: What are First copy time (FCOT) and Warm up time (WUT)? All the control panels are designed to provide simple and comprehensive operability with the four-digit LCD panel and hard keys including arrow keys. <<Control panel of e-STUDIO2505F>> Keys with the e-STUDIO2505H/F functions Keys with the e-STUIDO2505F functions Q16: Why doesn’t the e-STUDIO2505 Series support the second drawer and RADF? A16: Because we intend to offer the e-STUDIO2505 Series to users who handle simple jobs and a small volume of documents, and the e-STUDIO2506 and e-STUDIO2507 Series to users who have a large volume of documents and want multiple functions. We intend to designate users by making a difference in functions to be provided. Q17: What design concept is implemented for better serviceability and maintainability? A17: The ERU (Easy Replaceable Unit) design concept has been implemented for the e-STUDIO2505 Series. With this concept, a screw driver and a harness connector were reduced as much as possible. This significantly reduces service and maintenance time when replacing the units during PM (preventive maintenance), and handling emergency problems. Thus, service maintenance efficiency has been improved and therefore the machine’s uptime is increased. (Note) Although the template feature will be applied as the running change, the Template hard key is remained on the control panel without any silk print name.
