Discussion Question 1 • Proverbs is filled with verses praising hard work and warning against laziness. Is this what you get out of Proverbs 13:4, or is there more to this verse?
Discussion Question 2 • Explain what verses 7 and 8 tell us about both being rich and being poor as well as appearing to be rich and appearing to be poor. What is the difference, exactly?
Discussion Question 3 • Proverbs 13:11 presents a very relevant lesson in today’s world. What should we take from this verse? Can you think of any real-life examples?
Discussion Question 4 • What criteria do you use when choosing your friends? Can you choose your friends? Or is friendship just something that happens? What does this chapter say about this?
Discussion Question 5 • Are we supposed to read verse 23 in a literal sense, or does is have a more symbolic meaning?
Discussion Question 6 • Do you believe in the physical discipline of children? Please explain why or why not and how we are supposed to apply verse 24 to our parenting.
