What is Z-H.O.P.E.? Z-HOPE is an outreach service program that has six primary objectives, corresponding measures of success and a mechanism for chapter recognition. The primary objectives are: - To provide culturally appropriate informational activities according to the Z-HOPE program format. - To foster collaborative partnerships between community organizations with shared goals. - To promote the opportunities for expansion in Stork's Nest programs. - To facilitate community service and mentorship opportunities for members of the organization. - To provide an equitable chapter recognition program for community services rendered. - To provide a standard reporting format to concentrate efforts and demonstrate the organization's impact.
Minimum Z-H.O.P.E. Requirement Every chapter is obligated to participate in Z-H.O.P.E. by completing the following: • One activity for women per year • One activity for seniors per year
Z-H.O.P.E. Requirements According to Chapter Size • 1-4 members: must complete 1 activity annually with 4 Zeta’s/Zeta Auxiliary members in attendance • 5-25 members: must complete 2 activities annually with 4 Zeta’s/Zeta Auxiliary members in attendance • 26-50 members: must complete 4 activities annually with 4 Zetas/Zeta Auxiliary members in attendance • 51 + members: must complete 6 activities annually with 4 Zetas/Zeta Auxiliary members in attendance
Receiving Z-H.O.P.E. Credit Z-H.O.P.E. Credit can be earned in three ways: 1. Twenty-five points will be awarded to every program that meets the Z-H.O.P.E. programming model and criteria; fourSorors, Amicae or Youth AND 20 non-Zeta community participants.
Z-H.O.P.E. Credit (cont.) 2. Each chapter will receive credit for monetary donations made to community organizations and initiatives that meet Z-H.O.P.E. requirements. Points are as follows: Graduate & AmicaeUndergrad & Youth Auxilaries *** Points will not exceed 100 regardless of donation amount
Z-H.O.P.E. Credit (cont.) 3. Twenty-five points will be awarded when hosting a program that requires you to collect goods; a chapter must collect a minimum of 20 items to receive credit. The following are examples of these programs: canned good drives, coat drives and shoe drives.
Earning Z-H.O.P.E. Points While Collaborating With An Auxiliary EACH chapter and auxiliary has to meet the minimum requirement in order for BOTH chapters to receive credit. This rule applies to all three areas of earning credit: • Hosting a Program • Monetary Donations • Collecting & Donating Goods
Z-H.O.P.E. Credit & Bonus Points All programs that meet the Z-H.O.P.E. criteria will receive 25 Z-H.O.P.E. points. • The exception is monetary donations and programs that fall under the IGB’s National Initiatives Bonus Points Bonus points are assigned to special Z-H.O.P.E. regional and national initiatives A chapter is only eligible for these bonus points after they have completed their minimum Z-H.O.P.E. requirements according to their chapter size, including one program for women and one for seniors.
Reporting Z-H.O.P.E. Programs • All programs are to be reported at the end of each month on the REPORTING FORM • When requested each chapter is to submit a MATRIX that has an entry on the spreadsheet for each programs reported • Information reported on the REPORTING FORM and MATRIX should match
Matrices • The MATRIX is generally used by the State and Regional Z-HOPE Coordinator to tally programs and points • Matrices are due four times during the course of a sorority year
Matrices (cont.) Matrix #1(Reviewed by A.R. Coordinator) • Due Date: January • Reporting Period: July 1st –December 31st of previous year Matrix #2(Reviewed by State Coordinator) • Due Date: March 1st • Reporting Period: March 1st of the previous year - February 28th of the current year Matrix #3(Reviewed by A.R. Coordinator) • Due Date: late May- early June • Reporting Period: July 1st of the previous year thru May 31st Matrix #4 (Reviewed by A.R. Coordinator) • Due Date: between July 1st – September 1st • Reporting Period: July 1st of the previous year thru June 30th
Maximizing Z-H.O.P.E. Points Z-H.O.P.E. programs can earn more than 25 points when reported using the correct program codes. • The program code and number of community participants must reflect each other. If you host a program geared toward multiple populations (men, women, international women, seniors and youth) and only have 20 community participants you can only report one program code. • If you list two separate program codes, W2S10 and M2M11, it is understood that there were 40 members of the community present, 20 men and 20 women. In this example a chapter will receive 50 points instead of 25.
