Webmail ServiceIntroduction • Gibtelecom has been offering a Webmail service for approximately 10 years. The current webmail service, been a free offering, is widely used by our valued customers and additionally used as a diagnostic tool for NOC Tier 1 and Tier 2 agents. • The current webmail product is no longer supported by Sendmailand also the aesthetics of the product feels out of date. During team meetings, it has been mentioned that a project to replace webmail was needed, but no time frame was officially set. • My proposal is for Gibtelecom to launch a new webmail product by the 4th Quarter of 2011. 2
Webmail ServiceCurrent Webmail Service Issues • Has limitations, e.g. cannot send more that 1 attachment. • No preview pane available to view messages. • Message deletion on some occasions fails • Colour scheme doesn’t match company’s website • Contacts in address book are not sorted. 3
Webmail ServiceProposal Replacement Webmail Product • Product Name : (http://roundcube.net/) • Roundcubemailfirst stable release was announced in early 2008. Roundcube is a web-based IMAP email client which is written in PHP. • Product is designed to run on standard web servers, such as Apache, in conjunction with a relational database engine, such as MySQL. • The user interface is rendered in XHTML and CSS, which are fully customizable. 4
Webmail ServiceAdvantages Of Roundcubemail (Company Perspective) • Product is free of charge • Open Source • Meets standard requirements with current servers, i.e. Red Hat 6 and MySQL • ISP Server Team knowledgeable on all products which are used by Roundcubemail (PHP, MySQL, CSS and Red Hat) + 5

Might require assistance from Customer Services Manager and / or Sales And Marketing Manager • Customer notification • - Mass Email To Be Sent To All Customers • Internal notification 7
