  2. Which Clef Do You Read In? • Treble Clef - flute, clarinet, saxes, trumpets, french horns, bells/mallets, baritone TC, violins • Bass Clef - trombone, tuba, bass, cello, bassoon, baritone • Alto Clef - viola

  3. Lines and Spaces • Every Clef has 5 lines and 4 spaces • Lines are numbered from bottom to top (1-5) • Spaces are numbered from bottom to top (1-4)

  4. Lines - Treble Clef • In Treble Clef, the lines are named E, G, B, D, F from bottom to top • “Every Good Boy Does Fine” • “Even George Bush Drives Fast” • “Empty Garbage Before Dad Flips”

  5. Spaces - Treble Clef • The 4 spaces of treble clef spell FACE From bottom to top

  6. Lines - Bass Clef • In Bass Clef, the lines are named G, B, D, F, A from bottom to top • “Good Boys Do Fine Always” • “George Bush Drives Fast Always” • “Great Big Dogs Fight Animals”

  7. Spaces - Bass Clef • The 4 spaces of bass clef are “All Cows Eat Grass” “All Cars Eat Gas” “Adam Can’t Eat Garbage”

  11. Musical Alphabet - Leger Linesabove and below the staff • Notes above or below the staff continue to follow the alphabet--use the backwards alphabet to figure out notes below the staff (G F E D C B A)
