  3. The interior plateau • Lies in central and eastern Iran • The plateau stands about 3000 feet above sea level • Largely surround by mountains

  4. The MountainsElburz & Zagros • The Elburz stand along the Iran’s boarder • Form a spectacular wall between the Caspian sea and the interior plateau • The Zagros extend the south and east from the boarders of turkey azerbaijan.

  5. The Caspian sea • It is a narrow of low land • Year round rain fall have made it the most heavily populated region in Iran. • Farmers grow cotton, rice, sugar, and tea

  6. The Khuzistan plain • The Plain is a important agricultural area • The region has iran’s richest petroleum deposits

  7. Climate • In contrast the Khuzestan plain has hot humid summers • Temp. reach 95 Degrees • The interior plateau has a dry climate • The average temp. in the city is 35 degrees in Jan. 85 degrees in July
