Description • A little bigger than a deck of cards and weighs about 8 ounces. • Outer casing made of anodized aluminum. • It has no buttons to push. • Only has 2 LED lights. One indicates your battery power status and the other your printing status.
What does it allow you to do? • The mobile printer allows you to instantly share digital photos that have just been taken in a 2 inch by 3 inch print. • You can transfer photos from a cell phone to the printer via Bluetooth or from a digital camera using a USB connection. • After the photo is sent, you have a print within 30 seconds to a minute.
Inkless? How does it work? • This printer uses Zink’s thermal printing technology, so it needs no ink. • The key is in the special Zink paper that the printer needs. • Zink paper looks colorless but it has 100 billion dye crystals embedded that are activated at the right temperatures. • The colors produced depends on the heat pulses from the thermal print head. • The thermal print head releases 200 billion heat pulses on the print. • The paper only needs a single pass through the thermal print head.
More on Zink paper • Zink paper: -has adhesive backing -is water resistant -tear proof -has a semi-gloss finish
The Prints and Battery • When the print leaves the printer: -There is no need to wait for it to be developed. -It is fully dry so the ink does not run. -It is water proof. • Battery life: -The printer operates from a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. -The battery life will last for about 15 to 25 prints.
Limitations • You cannot change the size of the print. All prints are 2 inches by 3 inches. • The cost per print could end up more expensive than your normal digital prints.
