Facts about Mary Seacole Mary Seacole • Mary Seacole was born Kingston Jamaica 1805. •           Her mother was an African.      Her father was an Scottish army      officer.     Mary Seacole married Edwin Horatio. Edwin Horatio died in 1844     She set up her own British Hotel and cared for the ill soldiers and their families.     Mary was awarded 7 medals for her bravery.     Mary Seacole died at the age of 76 at 1881.
