Development • Originally very colorful • GLaDOS was the first character created • Fitted into the Half-Life universe • Cake based on some guy saying that a lot of people like cake at Valve • Ellen McLain voiced GLaDOS & the turrets • Wanted to create an office space, but ran out of time

Plot At the start of the game the player wakes up in a glass room at ASCAES.
Plot While playing the game, you acquire the Portal Gun.
Plot You eventually reach GLaDOS’s chamber where the final battle takes place.

Portal 2 Plot At the beginning of Portal 2, you wake up in the ruined Aperture Science Facility after defeating GLaDOS.
Portal 2 Plot After entering the Main Breaker Room, the lift starts going up and you accidentally wake up GLaDOS, who starts making tests for you again.
Portal 2 Plot After a while of testing, you escape from GLaDOS and follow Wheatley to shut down the turret and neurotoxin.
Portal 2 Plot Finding your way back to GLaDOS, you plug in Wheatley for a core transfer with her, and he becomes power-mad and shoves you into a sealed off portion of the facility.
Final Battle After escaping from the sealed off portion of the facility, Wheatley finds you and makes more tests. But, one of the tests is a trap. After escaping the trap, you go through some of the maintenance areas of the facility, you eventually reach “his lair.” You attach corrupt cores on him to get GLaDOS back in her body. And… SURPRISE! The stalemate button explodes with you next to it. Will GLaDOS get back in her old body?
